The Maluso Line is the classic military type of Spanish horse. Maluso, right was the frontispiece in the studbook. He was foaled in 1939, at the Military Stud farm.
A group of breeders in Jerez were associated with the military breeding program. Maluso's sire was bred by Baones, from a sire bred by Muira. Maluso's dam was sired by a stallion purchased from the breeder Gurrero.
Escalera mares were an important part of the military breeding program.This group of breeders wee the primary source of the "military type".
